The  h e a r t  of the matter:

Jess is not only a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Virginia with more than a decade of clinical expertise, but first, she is a Woman, Wife and Mother. Jess spends the majority of her day caring for her young family and documenting this experience in her journal and on IG (@kind__mom), when she has “free-time”. 🙃

Jess has always had a passion for maternal mental health and early childhood development, yet this passion was wholeheartedly ignited with the birth of her two little girls. When Jess experienced Postpartum Anxiety with her first baby and subsequently sought treatment, her path became abundantly illuminated: she knew that it was her life’s purpose to guide mothers and families to know that they are not alone in this journey.

Jess has co-owned a successful Physical Therapy practice with her husband, Robbie, with 3 total locations over the course of 6 years. Their practices have been voted best in Prince William County for several consecutive years under their dual leadership.

However, being husband and wife, best friends, college-sweethearts, business owners, and new parents was not always easy, to say the very least. Their steadfast love, devotion and commitment to one another and their family helped them succeed in the darkest hours of owning a business, struggling with Postpartum Anxiety, and raising small children. Jess and Robbie also attribute their successes to the unyielding support of their respective families and friends.

With this, Jess not only brings her educative expertise to every facet of her work, but the purest form of empathy, compassion and humility as well. Through Kind Mom, Jess is here to build a community for families and to normalize the mental health needs of young families.

In her “free” time, Jess loves to spend time in nature with her family, take baths, read, and devour empirical research related to all things wellness and sustainable/ethical living.

The motherhood experience and seeking support throughout the journey can be summated into 2 quotations that Jess borrowed from her childhood heroes, Mister Rogers and Helen Keller.

"Anything that's human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting and less scary."

Fred Rogers

"Alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much."

Helen Keller
